Newcastle, August 24.- A new life boat has arrived here, and is now lying on the wharf, where many of the people interested in such things have been examining her.
She appears to be a pretty boat, but many think, she is not adapted to the service for which she is required ; some are of opinion that the is too low in the bow to meet the combing seas that run off this port in bad weather ; also, the ports for the discharge of water shipped are too small. Altogether, there appears to be a want of confidence in the model and workmanship, that will tell with serious effect if it should be necessary to man her with volunteers.
