Transcriber's note:
This book contains some language which is, I understand, racially offensive to some, and topics and ideas which perhaps belong to another age : since I've only put the book on-line for the Naval content and interest, I've doctored the word that some may find offensive, as one might a swear word, and much of the irrelevant text, regards hunting, where it doesn't involve feeding a ship's company, has been blanked out, although it is still there for those who wish to alter the colour of the font to something more readable, or just highlight it.
