A Scale of the Proportions in which Surgeons' Necessaries are supplied to His Majesty's Ships and Vessels for the use of the Sick on Board.

Barley is not sent either to the Mediterranean or the West Indies. The Sick and Wounded Board's Officers supply Macaroni in the Mediterranean, and Arrow Root in the West Indies in lieu thereof.
N. B. When Ships are on foreign or other Stations where there may not be depots of the above Stores in charge of an Officer of the Sick and Wounded Board; Surgeons are permitted to purchase Necessaries on obtaining an Order from their Captain or Commanding Officer for that purpose, not exceeding in value the rate of two pence per. Man per Month.
