Seamen's Wills
Whereas by Section 17 of the Navy and Marines (Property of Deceased) Act, 1865, it is enacted that His Majesty in Council may, from time to time, make such Orders in Council as seem meet for the better execution of any of the purposes of the said Act :

And whereas by an Order in Council, dated the 28th December, 1865, and made in pursuance of the said Act, certain provisions were ordered which it is desirable to amend as is hereinafter provided :

Now, therefore, His Majesty, by virtue of the powers in this behalf by the said Act or otherwise in Him vested, is pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:-

In investigating claims to Naval Assets the Inspector of Seamen's Wills may in any case, in substitution for the investigations prescribed by the said Order in Council of the 28th December, 1865, require the claimant to make a declaration suited to the circumstances of the case before a Magistrate or a Minister of Religion, and to obtain a certificate from two householders certifying to the claimant's identity, and to their belief. in the truth of the statement declared to.

Present, The King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council.

Whereas by Section 17 of the Navy and Marines (Property of Deceased) Act, 1865, it is enacted that His Majesty in Council may, from time to time, make such Orders in Council as seem meet for the better execution of any of the purposes of the said Act. And whereas by Orders in Council, dated the 28th December, 1865, and the 14th September, 1915, and made in pursuance of the said Act, certain provisions were ordered which it is desirable to amend as is hereinafter provided:

Now, therefore, His Majesty, by virtue of the powers in this behalf by the said Act or otherwise in Him vested, is pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows :

In investigating claims to Naval assets the Inspector of Seamen's Wills shall, in substitution for the investigations prescribed by the said Order in Council of the 28th December, 1865, require the claimant to make a declaration suited to the circumstances of the case before a Magistrate or a Minister of Religion, and, in those cases where it is considered to be necessary, to obtain a certificate from two householders certifying to the claimant's identity.
