The Big Flying Bridge of the "Monarch"

The "Monarch" is a sister ship to the "Thunderer," "Conqueror," and "Orion," but her bridge differs slightly from those of her sisters, and as will be seen the "flying" portion is carried right out from the roof of the wheelhouse over the top of the conning tower. It will be seen how the fore funnel is surrounded by bridges in this type of battleship. In the foreground is one of the ship's lifeboats to be lowered into the sea should a man fall overboard.
