The Tablet represented forms one of a series, in which the names of the officer's who have passed through Sandhurst, and who have been killed or died of wounds in recent wars, are to be commemorated. The series begins with the Crimea. There will be tablets to commemorate the Indian Mutiny, Afghanistan and Egypt, as well as one which will include China, New Zealand, and Ashanti. The tablets are of large size, measuring six feet by four feet six inches. The work is executed in alabaster and choice marbles.

The committee will proceed to put up the other four tablets as soon as they are supplied with funds for the purpose. At present only two have been executed. One is shown below:
