Whereas we are of opinion that it will be to the advantage of the Public Service that we shall possess the power to retain a Rear Admiral in the appointment of Admiral Superintendent of Your Majesty's Dockyard at Malta after his promotion to the rank of Vice Admiral :

We beg leave, therefore, humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the retention of a Rear Admiral in the appointment after his promotion to the rank of Vice Admiral, at the following rate of remuneration, namely : -

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have concurred in this proposal
