Admiralty Order in Council No. 22.
28 Jul 1893.
A.G.
Whereas it has been represented to us through the Naval Commander-in-Chief of the Pacific Station that the ordinary allowance of one shilling a day usually granted to Artificers &c. in lieu of quarters is insufficient at Esquimalt :
And whereas we are of opinion that the allowance in question should be increased to 1s, 6d. a day :
We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction an extension of this allowance to One Shilling and Six Pence a day on production of vouchers showing such payment.
The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have concurred in this proposal.
I.C.1951 / 1893.
