Allowance to Naval Officers for Survey of Victualling Stores at Places Abroad.

Whereas by Article 12, page 332 of the Instructions for the Government of Your Majesty's Naval Establishments abroad, it is provided that Commissioned Officers not borne for Yard service shall be paid an allowance of Ten shillings and six pence a day for the duty of continuous survey of Naval Stores, and Warrant Officers similarly situated an allowance of five shillings a day ; And whereas Naval Officers are sometimes employed surveying Victualling Stores at these Establishments, the duties and responsibilities being similar to those in connection with Naval Stores ; We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction payment of the allowances in question to Naval Officers, not specially borne for Yard service, when employed on survey of victualling Stores at places abroad ;

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence herein.
