Lodging Allowance to Commanders on Surveying Service
|
Admiralty Order in Council No. 33
23 Nov 1893.
A.G.
Whereas it is provided in Article 1410, clause 5, of the Regulations for the Government of Your Majesty s Naval Service, that a rate of Lodging Allowance of Four shillings and sixpence a day shall be paid to Staff-Commanders employed on Surveying Service whilst living on shore :
And whereas it is sometimes necessary to appoint an Officer of the rank of Commander on Surveying Service whose ordinary rate of Lodging Money would be Three shillings and sixpence a day:
And whereas it is undesirable that he should receive a lower rate of Lodging Allowance than Staff Commanders :
We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction payment of the higher rate of Lodging Money, viz., Four shillings and sixpence a day to Commanders employed on Surveying Service, whilst living on shore :
The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
I.C. 3081 / 1893.
