Allowances for Training Services on H.M.S. "Caledonia" and "Wanderer."

Admiralty Order in Council No. 35

20 Jan 1894

N.

Whereas the expansion of Your Majesty's Fleet and the general increase in the requirements of the Royal Navy have rendered it necessary that further accommodation shall be provided for Boys of the Royal Navy under training; and whereas we have thought it expedient to relieve the present over-crowding of the Southern Training Ships, and to encourage the recruiting of North Country and Scotch Boys by commissioning Your Majesty's Ship "Caledonia " as a Training Establishment at Queensferry ; and whereas we have considered it necessary further to meet existing requirements by causing Your Majesty's Ship "Wanderer" to be commissioned as a Sailing Tender to Your Majesty's Ship "Boscawen."

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the payment of the allowances set forth in the accompanying Schedules (A. and B.) in connection with the Training Service carried out in Your Majesty's Ships "Caledonia" and "Wanderer."
