Whereas by the Regulations for the government of Your Majesty's Naval Service it is directed that under certain conditions Sub-lieutenants are to be allowed half pay of 2s. 6d. a day.

And whereas Acting Sub-Lieutenants are to all intents and purposes Sub-lieutenants, they being merely styled "Acting" until they have passed the final examination for Lieutenant.

We therefore beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to approve of Acting Sub- Lieutenants being allowed half pay at

the same rate as that granted to Sub-Lieutenants and under similar conditions, the same to take effect from 1st January 1893.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
