Command Money to Commanders in Torpedo Boats, &c. during the Manoeuvres

Admiralty Order in Council No. 78.
8 March, 1895.
A.G.
Whereas by Your Majesty's Order in Council of 10th August 1888, authority was given for the payment of command money at the sea-going rate, viz., 3s. 9d. a day, to Lieutenants who may be placed in command of Torpedo Boats, and other vessels, during the Annual Manoeuvres of the Fleet, irrespective of whether the vessels may or may not be attached as Tenders to Harbour Ships, or separately commissioned; and whereas we are of opinion that it is desirable to extend this regulation to the cases of Commanders who may be placed in command of such vessels. We beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to approve of the same rate of command money {38. 9d. a day) being paid to these Officers, and that payment should commence with the Manoeuvres of 1894.
The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
