Compensation for Loss of Savings of Crews of Certain Vessels Commissioned For Temporary Service

Admiralty Order in Council No. 83

N.

11 May, 1895

Whereas Your Majesty was graciously pleased by Your Order in Council of 28th November 1887 to grant 1d. a day as compensation for the loss of the privilege of savings to men in Torpedo Boats notwithstanding that they receive full rations ; and whereas we are of opinion that it would tend to the simplification of accounts, and saving of clerical labour, if similar compensation were granted in the cases of all boats and vessels, if independent commands, commissioned for Manoeuvres or other temporary service, whose complement does not include an Officer or other person belonging to the Accountant Branch of the Royal Navy ; We would therefore beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction payment of this allowance to the crews of all vessels thus circumstanced.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence herein.
