Whereas under Appendix XVII., page 976, of the Regulations for the government of Your Majesty's Naval Service it is provided that Senior Engineers of Your Majesty's Vessels in Commission with Engines of 3,000 Indicated Horse Power and upwards, shall receive an Allowance of 1s. 0d. a day, and whereas we are of opinion that as the duties of the Engineer Officer in charge of the Horsea Island Torpedo Range are of equal responsibility, he should be paid a similar allowance ; we beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to approve of the latter officer being paid the said Allowance of 1s. 0d a day, and that this regulation should take effect from 1st April 1895. The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
