Whereas a large increase has taken place in the work involved in the local audit at Esquimalt Yard, we beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the allowance of Thirty pounds per annum now authorised to be paid for the duty being increased to Fifty pounds per annum, the amount authorised at other Naval Depots, the increased allowance to commence from the date of Your Majesty's Order. The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have concurred in this proposal.
