Retired Naval Officers Voluntarily Re-Employed

Whereas we have had under our consideration the remuneration to be granted to Retired Naval Officers when voluntarily re-employed; And whereas we are of opinion that such Officers should be granted additions to the pay and allowances of their rank in the shape of bonus, but should not count their service for increase of retired pay ; we beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased, by Your Order in Council, to sanction the following proposals : -
I. - Retired Naval Officers when voluntarily re-employed shall not count their service for increase of retired pay but shall receive in addition to the full pay and allowances of their rank of the retired list a bonus of fifteen per cent, for every pound of the full pay of their rank (exclusive of allowances) earned by them.
II. - Equipment allowances shall be granted at the following rates provided that no Officer shall receive any allowance if he was retired within three years from the date of reemployment, and that no allowance shall be repeated to the same Officer within a. period of five years : -

III. - These proposals shall apply solely to Officers who may be voluntarily re-employed and shall not affect Officers who may be called into Active Service in time of War or Emergency.
The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in these proposals.
