Officers who have Qualified in Gunnery or Torpedo, Allowed a further Course in Gunnery

Admiralty Order in Council No. 97

N,

3 October, 1895.

Whereas, by Article 806 of the Regulations established in 1893 for the government of Your Majesty's Naval Service, it is provided that Officers who have qualified in Gunnery or Torpedo may be allowed to follow a Torpedo Course at our discretion, and to be appointed to full pay without command money for this purpose;

And whereas there is no provision for their being allowed a similar privilege as regards a Gunnery Course, although the two courses are otherwise on the same footing ;

And whereas it seems to us desirable that the conditions as to these two courses should be assimilated ;

We beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the necessary alteration of Article 807 of the said Regulations, which relates to the Gunnery Courses.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
