Allowances For Training Services On H.M.S. " Calliope."
|
Admiralty Order in Council No. 156.
18 May, 1897.
Whereas we have considered it expedient to commission Your Majesty's Ship "Calliope " as a tender to the "Northampton" in order to increase the means of entering boys at a later age than usual and training them in sea-going training ships.
And whereas we are of opinion that the persons employed upon instructional duties in Your Majesty's Ship "Calliope" should receive similar allowances to those paid to instructors in other training ships.
We beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the payment of the allowances set forth in the accompanying Schedule from the 23rd February 1897 the date when the "Calliope" was commissioned.
The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
