Regulations for the Appointment of Dispensers in Naval Hospitals

Whereas by Your Majesty's Order in Council dated the 15th day of October 1872, certain qualifications are laid down in Clause 3 of the Regulations set forth therein for the appointment of Dispensers in Your Majesty's Naval Hospitals at home and abroad, and whereas we are of opinion : -
- That the Certificate of competent knowledge and qualification and skill, required by section 21 of the Pharmacy Act Ireland, 1875, should be included among the qualifications set forth in the said Regulations :
- That the allowance of 2s. or 1s. a day for charge of Stores, as laid down in paragraph 9 of the said Regulations, should be paid to any Dispenser who Is allowed to be in charge of Stores without reference to the qualification as a Dispenser which he holds; this Regulation to take effect as from the 1st day of April 1896.
- That future appointments should be made after competitive examination to be conducted by the Civil Service Commissioners and confined to candidates who possess the qualifications as Dispensers stated in the said Regulations as amended by these proposals.
We, therefore, most humbly recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased to sanction the amendment of the Regulations accordingly.
The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty s Treasury have concurred in the above proposals.
