Additions to Rations of Crews of Her Majesty's Ships Employed on the River Niger

Admiralty Order in Council No. 177

26 November, 1897.

V.

Whereas Your Majesty was graciously pleased, by Your Majesty's Order in Council of the 30th day of July 1891 and the 28th day of October 1892, to approve of certain additions to the rations of the crews of certain of Your Majesty's ships employed on the Zambesi and Shire Rivers and on Lake Nyassa.

And whereas Your Majesty's Ships "Heron" and "Jackdaw" have been commissioned for service on the River Niger.

We now beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased to approve of such additions as were sanctioned for the crews of the ships on the Zambesi and Shire Rivers and on Lake Nyassa being also allowed to the crews of Your Majesty's Ships "Heron" and "Jackdaw" and to any other of Your Majesty's Vessels which may be employed hereafter on the River Niger.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
