Improved Dietary to Boys in Training Ships


Admiralty Order in Council No. 7.

7th March 1898.

Whereas boys who are trained for service in the Royal Navy in Your Majesty's Stationary Training Ships are victualled on a specially liberal scale in accordance with Article 1721 of the Regulations for the government of Your Majesty's Navy :

And whereas we are of opinion that it is necessary to improve the dietary of boys who are trained in Your Majesty's Seagoing Training Ships, and who under present arrangements are victualled on the ordinary naval scale prescribed by Appendix XXI. of the aforesaid Regulations for the government of Your Majesty's Navy.

We humbly beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased, by Your Order in Council, to sanction the increase of their daily ration, from the 1st April next, by the issue of an additional � lb. of bread and � lb. of meat.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
