Assistants to Chief Inspectors of Machinery at the Dockyard Reserves. Allowance of 1s. day

Admiralty Order in Council No. 10.

19 May 1898.

A.G.

Whereas we have had under our consideration the pay and position of the Engineer Officers employed as assistants to the Chief Inspectors of Machinery of the Dockyard Reserves at Portsmouth, Devonport, and Chatham.

And whereas we are of opinion that, in consideration of the importance of the duties entrusted to those officers, they should receive an allowance of 1s. a day in addition to their full pay.

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty Will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council, to sanction payment of this allowance from 1st January 1898.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.

N.P. 1279. / 1898.
