Allowances for Training Service carried out in "Agincourt"


Admiralty Order in Council No. 20

Whereas it has become necessary to establish an additional Training Ship as a Receiving Ship for Boys who have completed their course of training, in the Training Ships to obviate their being sent direct to the Naval Depots whilst waiting draft to a sea-going ship.

And whereas we have deeded to station Your Majesty's Ship "Agincourt" at Portland as a Receiving Ship for such Boys, we beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the payment of the allowances set forth in the accompanying schedule in connection with the Training Service carried out in Your Majesty�s Ships "Agincourt" or other Vessel commissioned for this purpose.

We further beg leave to recommend that a fixed sum of Three hundred pounds per annum be granted for the establishment and maintenance of the Boys' Fund, in lieu of the payment of the usual capitation grant.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their consent to these proposals.

Description of Allowance. To whom payable No. Rate of Special Allowance
In lieu of Allowance of 1s. 6d. per day. Senior Lieutenant 1 2s. 6d. a day.

* Instructing Boys

Gunnery    
  Petty Officer, S.G. or S.G.T. for Gunnery Instruction. 10

6d. a day each.

  Chief Yeoman of Signals 1
  Yeoman of Signals 1
  Sailmaker 1
*Instructing Band Boys. Chief Bandmaster 1 1s. a day each.
* Instructing Boys in Gymnastics. Gymnastic Instructor - 6d, a day for six days in the week.

* These numbers are fixed by the Admiralty, as may from time to time be found necessary.
