Whereas by Your Majesty's Order in Council of 1st April 1881 an allowance of 58. a day in addition to Full Pay was granted to the Senior Medical Officer, whether a Fleet or Staff Surgeon, of a Flagship bearing the Flag of a Commander in Chief on a Foreign Station, and,

Whereas we are of opinion that a similar allowance should be granted to the Senior Medical Officer, being a Fleet or Staff Surgeon, of the Flagship bearing the Flag of the Senior Officer commanding the Channel Squadron.

We beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction payment of this allowance from 1st July 1898.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal
