Payment to Steward and to Cook entered for temporary Service in temporarily Commissioned Ships


Admiralty Order in Council No. 47.

Whereas by the Regulations for the government of Your Majesty's Naval Service (Article 1.462) allowances are payable under certain specified circumstances to men and boys of Your Majesty's Navy, to enable them to provide themselves with the requisite clothing ; but no provision is made for Ship's Stewards and Cooks entering for temporary service' in temporarily commissioned Ships, e.g., in Ships commissioned for the Annual Manoeuvres; and

Whereas we are of opinion that a Steward so entering should receive �2, and a Cook �1, for this purpose.

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased, by Your Order in Council, to sanction this proposal.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence herein.
