Whereas Your Majesty was graciously pleased by Your Order in Council of 6th March 1896 to sanction payment of Store Allowances to Chief Gunners, Boatswains and Carpenters and. Warrant Officers serving in certain Ships and Establishments at home, at the following rates, viz. : -
| Chief Gunner, Chief Boatswain, or Chief Carpenter |
1s. a day. |
| Warrant Officer under 5 years' service |
6d. a day. |
| Warrant Officer after 5 years' service |
8d. a day. |
| Warrant Officer after 10 years' service |
10d. a day. |
And whereas we are of opinion that the Officer in charge of the Stores of the Torpedo Range at Devonport should receive Store Allowance according to the same scale :
We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased, by Your Order in Council, to sanction payment of the same from 1st April 1899, and further to authorise us to award the allowance to any Officer similarly employed in the future when the Stores in his charge are, in our opinion, of sufficient value to justify its payment.
The Lord Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
