Senior Officer's Clerk on West Coast of Africa - Allowance of 2s. 6d. a day

Whereas Your Majesty was graciously pleased by Your Orders in Council of the 2nd February 1884, the 26th November 1886, the 24th November 1891, and the 6th February 1892, to sanction Allowances of 2s, 6d. a day to Paymasters, Assistant Paymasters or Clerks, doing the duty of Senior Officers' Clerks at Shanghai, Singapore, New Guinea, New Hebrides, and Zanzibar :

And whereas we consider it desirable that a similar Allowance should be granted to the Paymaster, Assistant Paymaster or Clerk performing similar duty as Clerk to the Senior Officer on the West Coast of Africa : We most humbly beg to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction payment of this Allowance as from the 12th March 1899.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence herein,
