Allowance of 3d, per diem to the Ship's Steward of any of H.M. Ships for every 50 persons when the Number of Naval Supernumeraries conveyed causes the Complement to be exceeded by 200

Admiralty Order in Council No. 81.

28 Nov 1899.

A.G.

Whereas it is provided in Articles .1262 and 1482 of the Regulations for the Government of Your Majesty's Navy that an allowance of 3d. a day for every fifty persons may be paid to the Ship's Steward of a Troop Ship conveying Naval Supernumeraries, when (except under special circumstances) the number carried is not less than 200 :

And whereas we are of opinion that this allowance should be paid under the terms of the Articles to the Ship's Steward of any of Your Majesty's Ships when the number of Naval Supernumeraries conveyed in such Ship causes the authorised complement to be exceeded by 200 ;

We beg humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction this proposal to take effect from the 22nd February 1899 ;

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence herein.
