Admiralty Order in Council No. 96.
A.G.
3 March 1900.
Whereas we have had under our consideration the allowances for subsistence granted to Boys in Your Majesty's Navy when travelling on Service ;
And whereas we are of opinion that the rates at present authorised are insufficient in many instances to provide adequate food and accommodation ;
We beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased to sanction, by Your Order in Council, the following modification of tie existing Regulations :
I. - The extension to all Boys who have been finally entered in Your Majesty's Navy of. the scale laid down (for Boys who have completed their period of training only) in Article 1522 (Class VII.) of the Regulations for the Government of Your Majesty's Naval Service.
II. - The additional allowance of 1s. a night in cases where it may be necessary to pay for sleeping accommodation en route.
The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in these proposals.
