Equipment Allowances to Retired Officers extended to all Retired Officers employed during war or emergency, whether compulsorily or voluntarily

Extended to all Retired Officers employed during War or Emergency, whether compulsorily or voluntarily.

Whereas Your Majesty was graciously pleased, by Your Order in Council of 24th June 1886, to sanction the following regulations for the award of Equipment Allowances to Retired Officers called into Active Service during war or emergency, viz. : -

That we be empowered to grant, at our discretion, sums not exceeding the following amounts : -

 
Flag Officers, Commodores, and Officers of the same relative rank 60
Captains, Commanders, and Officers of the same relative rank 50
Lieutenants, and Officers of the same relative rank 40
Sub-Lieutenants, and Officers of the same relative rank 30
Warrant and Subordinate Officers 20

And whereas we are of opinion that the above regulations should be extended to all Retired Officers employed during war or emergency, whether compulsorily or voluntarily.

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased, by Your Order in Council, to sanction the same, to take effect from 1st September 1899.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
