Flag Officers of the Channel Squadron - Increased Allowances for Table Money

Admiralty Order in Council No. 133,

30 January 1901.

A.G.

Whereas under Appendix XVII. of the Regulations for the government of Your Majesty's Naval Service, the rates of Table Money at present payable to the Flag Officers of the Channel Squadron are -

3 0s. 0d a day to the Flag Officer in command and
1 10s. 0d, a day to the Flag Officer second in command.

And whereas it has been found that the present allowances are inadequate for the purpose for which they are given ;

We therefore beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased, by Your Order in Council, to sanction payment from 1st September 1900 at the following rates, viz. : -

To the Flag Officer in command, 4 10s. 0d. a day, i.e. the rate payable to a Flag Officer when Commander-in-Chief on a foreign station.

To the Flag Officer second in command, 2 0s. 0d. a day, i.e., the rate payable to a Flag Officer serving under the orders of a Senior Officer abroad.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in these proposals.

N.P. 445 / 1901.
