Extending Allowance of 1s. 6d. a day to the Gunners in charge of Torpedo Boats and Stores at the Cape, Malta, Bermuda, and Gibraltar, and to any other Depots where the Duties are of sufficient importance

Admiralty Order in Council No. 148,

25 March 1901.

A.G.

Whereas under Order in Council of Her late Majesty bearing date the 1st May 1890, an allowance of 1s. 6d. a day is granted to the Gunner in charge of Stores connected with the Torpedo Boats and the Depot at Kowloon, Hong Kong ;

And whereas we are of opinion that this allowance should be extended, to the Gunners in charge of Torpedo Boats and Stores at the Cape, Malta, Bermuda, and Gibraltar, in view of the increase in their duties of recent years ;

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to approve the same as from 1st April 1 900, and to empower us to grant this allowance (1s. 6d. a day) in any other Depots where we may, at any future time, consider the duties are of sufficient importance.

The Lord Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
