Whereas it is desirable to encourage good shooting in the Torpedo Boat Destroyers of Your Majesty's Navy by the Payment of Money Prizes to Petty Officers and Seamen for such good shooting :
And whereas we are of opinion that the practice of payment of allowances for good shooting with heavy guns, sanctioned by the Order in Council of Her late Majesty, bearing date the 28th day of November 1899 should be extended so as to apply to Light Guns in Torpedo Boat Destroyers.
We humbly beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the allowances shown in the following Schedule.

| Prizes for proficiency in Target Practice with Light Guns in Torpedo Boat Destroyers to be awarded in each of the three quarters, other than the one in which Annual Prize Firing is carried out. |
Quarterly capitation allowance of 3d. on authorised complement of ship.
To take effect from 1st May 1901. |
| Petty Officers and Seamen |
Prizes to be awarded at the discretion of the Captain of the Ship in accordance with the regulations laid down in the Gunnery Manual. |
The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
