Revision of Allowance to Fleet Engineer of Flag ship of Admiral Superintendent of Naval Reserves
|
Admiralty Order in Council No. 165 .
26 June 1901.
A.G.
Whereas under the Regulations governing Your Majesty's Naval Service, payment of Flag Allowance to the Fleet Engineer of the Flag Ship of the Admiral Superintendent of Naval Reserves is only payable when the Flag of the Admiral Superintendent is flying, i.e., when the Reserve Squadron is assembled for the summer cruise, or mobilized ;
And whereas in view of the importance of the Reserve Squadron, and the class of vessels of which it is composed, we are of opinion that the duties in respect of which Flag Allowance is granted should no longer be confined to such short periods, but should be continued throughout the year ;
We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased, by Your. Order in Council, to sanction payment, from 1st April 1901, of an allowance of 2s. 6d. a day, to be increased to 5s. a day (as now), when the Admiral Superintendent's flag is flying ;
The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
