Increase in the Number of Riggers on H.M. Yachts


Admiralty Order in Council No. 180.

Whereas the number of Riggers in the complement of Your Majesty's Yachts, sanctioned by the Order in Council of Her late Majesty bearing date the 12th day of December 1885, was as follows, viz. : -

  Petty Officers Seamen Total
"Victoria and Albert'* 28 47 76
"Osborne" 5 31 36
  33 78 111

And whereas the complement of the new "Victoria and Albert" includes 89 Riggers, viz. 26 Petty Officers and 63 Seamen, or an increase of 14 ;

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased by your Order in Council to sanction these increased numbers from the date of commissioning of the vessel, under the same conditions as at present.

We would further recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased to confer upon us power to vary the number of these Riggers, at our discretion, as necessity may require. .

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty�s Treasury have signified their concurrence in these proposals.
