Whereas under a recent scheme we have arranged that the mathematical examination of men of Your Majesty's Navy for the rank of Gunner in all Your Majesty's Gunnery and Torpedo Schools shall be conducted by one Officer, the Chaplain and Naval Instructor of Your Majesty's Ship " Excellent " ;

And whereas we are satisfied that the work connected therewith will cause a considerable addition to the ordinary duties of this Officer ;

We most humbly beg to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction an allowance of 2s. a day (�36 10s. a year) for this service.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal
