Employment of Interpreters in any Ship in which that may be considered necessary
|
Admiralty Order in Council No. 197
24 March 1902.
A.G.
Whereas, under the Regulations for the government of Your Majesty's Naval Service, Interpreters may only be appointed to Flag or Senior Officers' Ships, and (French language only) to ships bearing Midshipmen ;
And whereas we are of opinion that it is no longer desirable to thus limit these appointments ;
We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty will be graciously pleased, by Your Order in Council, to empower us to employ duly qualified Interpreters in any ship in which we may consider such employment necessary in the interest of Your Majesty's service.
The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
N.P. 1010 / 1902.
