Pensions to Widows and Allowances to Children of Non-Commissioned Officers, Petty Officers and men of the Royal Navy and Marines whose Deaths are attributable to Warlike Operations - Extension of Period for granting

Whereas Your Majesty was graciously pleased by Your Order in Council, dated the 26th September 1901, to establish regulations for the grant from Naval Funds of Pensions to Widows and Allowances to. Children of Non-commissioned Officers and Petty Officers and Men of the Royal Navy and Marines and of the Reserve Forces whose deaths are attributable to warlike operations :

And whereas it is among other things directed that such pensions and allowances can only be granted in cases where men have died within twelve months of the receipt of wounds or injuries or of removal from duty on account of disease :

And whereas we consider it desirable to extend this period from 12 months to 2 years.

We beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the amendment of the regulations accordingly, the amendment to be applicable to the cases of men who may have died since the 11th October 1899.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in the proposed amendment.
