Sanctioning Re-instatement of Mr. F. C. Mahon as Surgeon R.N., and. to count former service for Pay and Promotion, but not for Retirement

Admiralty Order in Council No. 231.

16 December 1902.

N.

Whereas We have had under our consideration the case of Mr. Frederick Francis Mahon, late a Surgeon in Your Majesty's Navy, who voluntarily resigned his commission on the twenty-second day of March, J 899, in order to return to civil practice.

And whereas we deem it desirable, in the interests of Your Majesty's Naval Service, that Mr. Mahon, who is now desirous of resuming his commission, should be permitted to do so, but with a reduction in seniority of such time as he has been out of the Service :

We therefore beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the reinstatement of Mr. Frederick Francis Mahon upon the list of Surgeons of Your Majesty's Navy, with seniority of the eleventh day of July, 1898.

We further beg leave to recommend that Mr. Mahon's service prior to the twenty-second day of March, 1899, should reckon for purposes of promotion and of full and half pay, but not for the purpose of pay on retirement.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in these proposals.
