Allowance to Officers in charge of Stores at Naval Rifle Ranges, including Portland

Whereas we have had under our consideration the pay and position of the Officer appointed for duties in connection with Portland Naval Rifle Range, including charge of the Stores at the Range :

And whereas the Stores in question are of considerable value and great responsibility is involved in their custody :

We therefore humbly beg leave to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to empower us to award at our discretion, as from the 1st April 1902 � in respect of the care of these Stores or of those at any other Naval Rifle Range � an allowance according to the rank and service of the Officer in charge on the scale established by Order in Council of Her late Majesty bearing date the 6th March 1896, viz. :�

  a day
Chief Gunner 1s.
Gunner under 5 years' service 6d.
Gunner after 5 years' service 8d.
Gunner after 10 years' service 10d.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in these proposals.
