Admiralty Order in Council No. 13
16 February 1903.
A.G.
Whereas it is provided under the Regulations for the government of Your Majesty's Naval Service, Appendix VI., Part 2, page 1086, Nos. 3 and 5, that persons acting as Ship's Cooks and Ship's Stewards (or Ship's Stewards' Assistants) in vessels in the Fleet Reserve of Your Majesty's Navy, on board which care and maintenance parties sleep and are victualled, are each to receive an allowance of 6d. a day for these duties ;
And whereas it has been found that from time to time men have to be employed under similar conditions on board vessels in the Dockyard Reserve of Your Majesty's Navy ;
We therefore beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the payment, as from the 9th July 1901, of the above-mentioned allowance to the persons performing these duties on any vessel on board which care and maintenance parties sleep and are victualled.
The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
