Provision of Wages and Victuals for the Fleet, 1903-4

His Majesty in Council was this day pleased to declare it necessary for His Majesty's Service that timely provision for Sea Victuals be made for �

103,063 Officers, Seamen, and Boys, including those in Shore Establishments.
12,000 Marines afloat including those in Shore Establishments
7,800 Marines on shore
4,237 Coastguard on shore.
127,100 Total, to serve in His Majesty's Navy for 12 calendar months: And to that end His Majesty doth hereby order that the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty do prepare the Estimates of the Charges as well of the said Victuals as of the Wages of the said Officers, Seamen, Marines, and Boys, for the said 12 calendar months, commencing on the 1st April 1903, and ending the 31st March 1904, and present the same to His Majesty at this Board.

This day the following Estimate from the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty was presented and read to His Majesty at this Board : �

122,863 An Estimate of the charges of Wages and Victuals for One hundred and twenty-two thousand eight hundred and sixty-three Officers, Men and Boys (including Nineteen thousand eight hundred Royal Marines, and Six thousand two hundred Boys for Training) to serve in His Majesty's Fleet ; and for Four thousand two hundred and thirty-seven Officers and Men to be borne on the Books of His Majesty's Ships and Vessels, to be employed in His Majesty's Coast Guard Service on Shore for Twelve Calendar Months, commencing on 1st April 1903.

Provision of Victuals and Wages for the Fleet, 1907-8

Whereas His Majesty was pleased, by His Commission dated the 5th March, 1907, to nominate and appoint His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, in His Majesty's absence from His Realm in Foreign Parts, to hold on His Majesty's behalf. His Privy Council, and to signify thereat His approval of any matter or thing whereunto His Royal Highness should be so authorised by writing under His Majesty's Sign Manual, and to do further on His Majesty's behalf any matter or thing for the purposes of the said Commission whereunto His Royal Highness should be authorised in manner aforesaid :

Now, therefore. His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales being authorised thereto by writing under His Majesty's Sign Manual, doth hereby, on His Majesty's behalf, declare it necessary for His Majesty's Service that timely provision for Sea Victuals be made for �
