Mess Stewards in charge of Officers' and Warrant Officers' Mess Traps — Extension and revision of scale allowances

Admiralty Order in Council No. 87.

10th August 1904.

V.

Whereas we have had under consideration the scales of allowances to Mess Stewards in Your Majesty's Navy, for the care of the Mess Traps supplied to Ward Room, Gun Room, and Warrant Officers' Messes, as laid down in Appendix VI, Part II., of the Regulations for the Government of Your Majesty's Naval Service ;

And whereas we are of opinion that, in view of the number of Officers now borne in Your Majesty's Naval Barracks and other Depots at Home Ports, and of the consequent increase in the value of the Mess Traps in the charge of the Mess Stewards at those Establishments, it is desirable that these Scales of Allowances should be revised and extended :

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to approve the adoption, from the first October 1904, of a revised scale of Allowances for the care of Mess Traps, which shall be common to the Mess Stewards of the Ward Room, Gun Room, and Warrant Officers' Messes in Your Majesty's Navy, as follows : —

When the value of the Mess Traps supplied is —

£   £ d,
