That the scale of payments for the discharge of men and boys from the Royal Navy and Royal Marines shall be as set forth in the subjoined Schedule.
That without derogating from the powers already possessed by the Admiralty for the discharge of men from the Service, Naval Ratings and Marines who have completed at least four years� service from the age of 18 be allowed in limited numbers at our discretion free discharge upon the condition that they join the Royal Fleet Reserve.
That Naval Ratings who may re-enter the Navy with less than four years* service and Marines who may purchase their discharge and subsequently enter the Royal Navy shall be treated as new entries so far as Clothing and Bedding gratuities are concerned ; and that men with over four years' service (except those discharged free after 16 years) re-entering shall receive the lesser gratuities to which they would be entitled on re-engaging after completing their first continuous service engagements :
That men who may rejoin the Royal Navy or Royal Marines within two years of discharge therefrom and who may have already received a repayment of one-third of the purchase money on enrolment in the Royal Fleet Reserve shall be paid the difference between one-third and one-half of the purchase money.
These Regulations to take effect from the date of Your Majesty's Order in Council, except that in the case of men who apply for discharge before 1 July 1905 the amount required by the old scale may be accepted.
