Lieutenants, R.N.R. — Transfer of, to the Active List of R.N., at the discretion of Admiralty

Admiralty Order in Council No. 112.

11th July 1905.

A.

Whereas by an Order in Council of Her late Majesty bearing date the 8 March 1895 we were authorised to employ Lieutenants of the Royal Naval Reserve who have undergone twelve months' training and volunteer to serve in lieu of Lieutenants in Your Majesty's Navy :

And whereas we consider it desirable that we should have power to transfer to the active list of Your Majesty's Navy Officers of the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Naval Reserve who have been employed in Your Majesty's Fleet and have particularly distinguished themselves while so employed :

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to authorise us to make such transfers at our discretion :

We further beg leave to recommend that we may be authorised, in consultation with the Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury, to determine the seniority of any officer so transferred and the manner in which his previous service shall count for all purposes.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in the foregoing proposals.
