Allowance to Officers in charge of Boom Defence Stores at Home and Abroad. Case of Gibraltar

Admiralty Order in Council No. 117.

23rd October 1905.

A.G.

Whereas Your Majesty was graciously pleased by Your Order in Council of the 19th November 1902 to sanction the payment of an allowance of 1s. a day to the Officer in charge of the Boom Defence Stores at certain of the Home Ports :

And whereas we are of opinion that the duties performed by the Officer in charge of the Boom Defence Stores at Gibraltar are such as to warrant payment of the same allowance :

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction payment of this allowance at Gibraltar as from 1st June 1903, and further to authorise us to extend the payment at our discretion to any other ports at Home or Abroad at which it may hereafter be found necessary to place an Officer in charge of Boom Defence Stores.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.

N.P. 3987 / 1905.
