Whereas it is necessary to maintain a special establishment of stores for the submarine vessels of Your Majesty's Navy :
And whereas the charge of these stores and the preparation of the accounts relating to them entail considerable responsibility upon the officers concerned :
We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the payment of Store Allowances as from the 21st November 1903 at the rates and in accordance with the conditions shown hereunder, viz. : —
To each Warrant Officer or Commissioned Warrant Officer or Lieutenant promoted therefrom, rendering the accounts for stores of submarines at any established base for submarines : —
- If in charge of submarine stores only - 6d. a day.
- If in charge of submarine stores in addition to other stores for charge of which an allowance is paid 6d. extra.
In the event of it being considered necessary to place more than one officer in charge of stores at any base for submarines, each officer so placed in charge and required to render Store Accounts to be eligible at our discretion to receive the allowance.
The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in these proposals.
