Recruiting of Naval Ratings and Royal Marines — Uniform Recruiting Fee fixed

Admiralty Order in Council No. 128

8th January 1906.

N.

Whereas by an Order in Council of Her late Majesty bearing date the 31 December 1883, it is provided that Recruiting Parties of Your Majesty's Royal Marines should receive a fee of £1 for every Recruit finally approved for the Royal Marines, and a fee of 5s. for every man or boy finally approved for entry into the Royal Navy :

And whereas we consider it desirable that the amount payable for this service should be on the same scale for both branches of Your Majesty's Navy :

We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction the Recruiting Fee for both Naval Ratings and Royal Marine Recruits being fixed at a sum of 10s. in every case as from 21 December 1905.

The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.

N. 623 / 1906.
