Admiralty Order in Council No. 145.
28th July 1906.
A.G.
Whereas Your Majesty, by Your Order in Council of the 11th June 1902, was graciously pleased to sanction the payment of a special allowance of 2s. 6d. a day to the Assistant Paymaster appointed for duty with the Chief of the Staff on the Mediterranean Station :
And whereas we consider it desirable that an allowance at this rate should also be attached to other similar appointments :
We beg leave humbly to recommend that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased by Your Order in Council to sanction, as from the 1st April 1906, payment of an allowance of 2s. 6d. a day to each of the Assistant Paymasters holding the following appointments :
- Secretary to the Chief of the Staff in the Channel Fleet.
- Secretary to the Chief of the Staff in any other Fleet or Squadron to which a Chief of Staff may be appointed, should we consider the issue of the allowance to be justified.
- Senior Secretary's Clerk in the Atlantic Fleet.
The Lords Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury have signified their concurrence in this proposal.
